Rachel's Challenge
Darrell Scott didn’t want his daughter’s execution to be in vain. Over ten years after the Columbine tragedy, Darrell Scott, father of Rachel Joy Scott-the first victim in the Columbine shooting, spoke to Muscatine schools and community to challenge them to start a chain reaction of kindness. Something that Rachel started years ago with her life and continues to encourage even in her death.
Darrell’s message to Muscatine High School students is to make a permanent and positive change in the culture and climate of their school.
The challenge for this age group is to:
1) Eliminate prejudice
2) Write down your goals and dreams
3) Choose positive peer influences
4) Keep a diary or journal
5) Perform small acts of kindness that will start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion
